The Artist

Terri's artistic journey began at a young age with ceramics in school, and she has since explored various mediums including sewing, quilting, stained glass, glass blowing, lampworking, and stone carving. Her move to the rural countryside opened new doors for her creativity. She became fascinated by the flora and fauna on her farm, from deer and bald eagles to trees, grasses, and insects. The more she observed, the more she discovered, especially the very small details.

“When I really slow down and take the time to observe what’s around me, I see exquisite beauty in every corner of this wonderfully rustic place.”

She noticed tiny flowers in every nook and cranny, and their intricacy and variety captivated her. She began pressing these flowers and using epoxy resin to preserve and share these minuscule wonders with others.

In addition to pressed flowers, Terri works with a variety of colors and designs in resin, but the tiny flowers remain her favorite subjects. She can often be found leaning over a gravel road or exploring around a barn, looking at the small but vibrant blooms under her feet.

“I encourage you all to take the time to stand still, take a few slow breaths, look around you and see the small wonders that are right beside you every day. We go through our lives so quickly without ever noticing this natural beauty that is within easy reach, if we just take the time to witness it.”

Terri lives in the upper left corner of the United States with her husband, dog, and draft horses.
